Woodlands for ages 0 to 2
Our babies have an extra special start to nursery life.
Your baby is individual and special and will thrive in our very small baby department. Our carefully selected staff will ensure that your baby is safe, loved and stimulated in a variety of sensory activities.
Our trained and experienced baby staff form loving relationships with the little ones in their care. Our staff take time to get to know the needs of each baby by working closely alongside parents. A babies environment has a dramatic effect on brain building and healthy development. It is the early stages of brain development that results in how well we think and learn, both as children and adults to create life long learners.
We continuously assess individual needs to ensure the transition to nursery adapts according to the child’s ever changing needs. Close attachments and positive interaction enhances and develops awareness which ensures your little one will get the best possible start in life.
Our Woodlands department is loving, warm and cuddly
Our staff have been carefully chosen based on qualifications, experience and genuine love for children. Every child has a key person, so your little one will always be with the same member of staff and a strong bond can be formed.
The relationship between our staff and you as a parent is very important to us and it is vital that information about your little one is shared on a daily basis. All nappies are included in the price. A daily report of what you little one has been up to will be uploaded onto the care diary via Tapestry, our online learning journal.
Your little one will be exploring all of the time
To make each day fun and exciting for our little ones, the girls individually plan activities based on the seven areas of learning. They focus mainly on communication and language, physical development, and personal, social and emotional development. This then sets the foundations for igniting the children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. This age is very exciting and our trained ‘Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)’ staff understand that mobility and language development are important for your little one to find out and understand more about the world.
Independent and Active
As the children get a little older they show increasing signs of independence and love to communicate and learn through play, the key person plans individual activities for this exciting time. The key person really gets to know your little one and finds out exactly what makes them tick, activities can then be planned on what your little one enjoys doing and at what stage they are developing. The children are offered a variety of activities in an imaginative and creative environment and in groups that are small, to encourage confidence in the social setting.
We have a kitchen which is situated next to the baby room for bottle preparation and baby food. The Woodlands also has its own outdoor area in the garden which includes artificial grass to make it more comfortable for crawling babies to explore. It is used throughout the year to promote the benefits of fresh air to the children.
